When you have a badass friend who just so happens to live tiny, it can be hard to know what to get them for birthdays or Christmas. After all, they don’t have an abundance of space for “things.”
And as someone living the tiny lifestyle, it can be a bit tricky when well-meaning friends buy you presents that take up precious space in your tiny living space.
I jotted down my top 3 ideas for gifts that your tiny house living and vanlife friends will love to receive!
1. Experiences
The chances are that if your friend has chosen to live an alternative lifestyle, they’re most likely the adventurous type.
Booking them into an experience (with an open date for use) is a great gift, and all the better if you plan on going with – because what experience isn’t better when it includes friends?!
Some ideas you could borrow are:
- Skydiving
- Dog Sledding
- Spa Day
- Tickets to a Stand-Up or Drag show
- Theme Park Passes
2. Gift Vouchers
Handy gifts are always appreciated, and if your friend has mentioned wanting something but wouldn’t spend the money on themselves – the fact that you paid attention and know them so well certainly won’t go unnoticed!
Some places to think about getting gift vouchers for are:
- Hair or Nail Salon
- The Garden Center
- Their favorite clothing store
- A Zero-waste store
- The electronic store (so they can buy smart gadgets for their home!)
3. Food and Beverage Gifts
We all need food and water to survive, but we also tend to get caught up in the mundane grocery haul that it can be especially lovely when someone treats us to the fancy edible gifts!
Some ideas you could borrow are:
- Fancy Coffee
- A full-on hamper of goodies
- A nice bottle of wine
- Tony’s Chocolonely in every flavor
- Really good hot sauce
Final Thoughts
If you’re struggling to come up with some ideas, just ask if they have a wishlist; this can be a great solution to making sure that you’re getting them something for their home that they truly want.
And hey, remember, it is the thought that counts, and a handwritten note or sentimental little video of your friendship can mean just as much if not more than any physical present!
